Gift From Within Produces PTSD Reference for Vets
2008 Fellow Jon Stephenson, an investigative journalist in New Zealand, has conducted an interview with psychiatrist Frank Ochberg on PTSD and veterans for Gift From Within, a sister organization of the Dart Society run by Joyce Boaz in Maine. Stephenson’s concentrated much of his reporting on war and conflict in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Gaza and Zimbabwe.

The Gift From Within site is probably the best I’ve found for help dealing with emotional injury from any traumatic experience, and this interview is an excellent addition to the site.
It’s of great use to veterans and their loved ones grappling with the the difficulty of returning to regular life after war, and features photography by Stephenson, fellow Dart Society member John Moore, and from the collection of Kirsten Holmstead, who has written extensively on women in combat.
A DVD in which 2005 FellowMike Walter interviews Ochberg on PTSD and veterans was produced by Gift From Within and distributed through a Dart Society grant in 2008 to 100 journalists of the Dart Society and Military Reporters and Editors. It is available here.
