Oh Yes He Did Bike 100 km!

And he did it in some beastly conditions Saturday, as you can see from this photo of the waves “lapping” over the bike path.

Jeff Kelly Lowenstein’s bike-a-thon for the Dart Society and other organizations he supports raised a couple hundred dollars and helped Jeff achieve a major cycling goal, but it also shows Jeff’s deep commitment to these organizations. We are very honored and proud to have him in the Dart Society.

Thanks to everyone who has donated to the Dart Society, and thanks to John Trotter whose seriously hilarious commentary on Jeff’s blog helped keep a smile on Jeff’s face.

It was a tough ride. Of this photo, he said, “I was thinking afterward I didn’t want to get too dramatic, but I wanted to give a feel for what it was like.” Sand in his face, he said, “just added to the feeling of adversity, but, hey!”

Check out Jeff’s blog post about the ride, and head on over to the donation page to make a tax-deductible donation in any amount anytime.

Over the next year the Dart Society hopes to have regional fund-raisers that could bring fellows together with new members and friends to screen “breaking News, Breaking Down” or host presentations on regional issues facing journalists who cover trauma. We’ll have more on that later.
