Moffeit, Croley Head to New Jobs
Two Dart Society Board members have announced they have new jobs.
Board VP Miles Moffeit (’04) has been hired at the Dallas Morning News and will work on the paper’s investigative team. He’ll start April 26th after nearly a decade at the Denver Post. His last day at the Post was today.
Moffeit has worked in Dallas. He covered 9/11 for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and, according to Romenesko, also worked for the Dallas Times Herald. He praised the paper’s fiscal ability and its commitment to narrative investigative reporting.
Tina Croley, the 2007 Mimi Award Honorable Mention who also serves as a veep on the society board, is the new enterprise editor and Washington Bureau Chief of Stars and Stripes.
She was an award-winning features editor for the Detroit Free Press before taking a buyout in August 2008 and moving to North Carolina. She will move to Alexandria, Va., and begin work April 29.
Stars and Stripes reports on matters affecting military service members with five daily newspaper and online editions for those serving overseas.
Howard Witt, senior managing editor at Stars and Stripes, called Croley “a skilled and sensitive mentor to reporters and line editors alike” in his staff announcement of her hiring.
